I love teaching. It's what I'm best at and I love the thrill of challenging students to think critically about language —this thing most of them have always done so effortlessly— and to marvel at its mix of systematicity and variability. I have had the tremendous good fortune to be the primary instructor of two courses here at Michigan and a graduate student instructor (GSI) for a third.

Prior to this, all of my teaching experience was in computer programming (javascript and perl), UNIX system administration, and numerous computer skills workshops (regular expressions, how to use a mouse, introduction to vi, relational database systems, excel macros, etc.).
